Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British American musician and sitarist is best known for her musical talents. She was also the first and youngest woman to be awarded the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Shankar is the hottest star on the Indian sitar. She is a student and daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was London in 1982, and during her early years, she swam between London New Delhi. The first time she performed was on stage in New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. Later she moved to Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in the year 1999. Anouskha, who is only 17 years old, has had an extremely successful recording and performing career. She regularly accompanies her father during performances, something she's been doing for several years. The year 1998 saw her debuted Anourag as her first album as a solo artist. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy Nominated Live at Carnegie Hall. Her career on stage is extensive for she has been in every one of the major stages in the world. The career of Anoushka goes far beyond music. Bapi The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she starred in Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka Shakar's profession is only going to continue to expand and develop. We are looking at seeing lots of different things that she does. Anoushka lived a long time between London and Delhi throughout her childhood. Later, she moved to California to attend high school. She began learning music when she was nine years old and played the sitar in celebration of the 75th anniversary her father's birth in Delhi just four years after. The father of Anoushka travelled across the world with her and she was able to gain many new opportunities. While still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concert. In the end, The House of Commons Shield was given in her honor by the British Parliament in recognition of being the pre-eminent Asian Arts musician. She is the sole female and the youngest winner of this award.
